Andrea & Corey - news and random thoughts -

For those weren't following General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker's hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, or perhaps didn't watch any of the major news networks... well... at all today, Sen. Feingold absolutely gave it to Crocker and Petraeus today. It was a beautiful thing.

Can I just state for the record that I love working for this man.

First off- Anyone to whom I told that there would be a labor day weekend party Sunday September 2. I apologize but circumstances have made that party impossible. Andrea and I never really got around to formally planning and inviting people but I just realized that I had told some people about it (who, I can't remember). So if I had invited you I apologize for the last minute cancellation, but I hope that you'll forgive me given the other news I have.

I doubt very highly that the White House press office would approve of that particular combination of headline and accompanying picture. Sure is funny though isn't it Mr. President?

We're just one week away from the big day so I thought I should update everyone on what's going on.

A few things of note:
-Room blocks were opened up to the public three weeks ago. If you haven't booked your room yet pickings might be slim. I might reccomend posting in the forum if you need to look for someone to crash with.

-For those who will be around the morning after, there will be a gift opening brunch catered at the Capitol Chophouse in the Hilton starting probably around 9am. Feel free to stop by and say "hi" and hang out with others.

I called the hotels today to check on the status of our room blocks and this is where we stand:

Best Western Inn Towner: 100% empty (5 rooms)

Best Western Inn On The Park: 100% empty (10 rooms)

Crowne Plaza: 100% empty (10 rooms)- there was a problem with this block where it was only for Friday night not Friday and Saturday nights. This has beed rectified. If you tried to make a reservation before please try again.

Hilton: Full. No mas. Zen zen nai. Zero.

Please book early as the rooms will start releasing to the general public starting June 12.
